I built PlavaFin because I got tired of paying for the same disappointment. Over the years I tried Rocket Money, Empower, Wave, and Tiller — real time, real money. Each one was good at exactly one thing: pulling my transactions out of my bank. After that, the work landed right back on me.
The same transactions needed re-categorizing every single month. The automation that existed never gave me enough control to make it truly mine. And at tax time it all fell apart — especially the rental and the business, where a single expense might get swiped onto whatever credit card had room — sometimes on purpose, to chase the rewards points — smearing the line between personal and business until sorting it out ate a weekend.
I didn’t want another app that imports my data and hands me back a spreadsheet’s worth of cleanup. I wanted a system that does the boring, repetitive part for me — and then gets out of the way, so I can spend my time deciding what to do, not doing data entry.
When no tool did that, I started building the one I actually wanted to use. PlavaFin is early — a small group of real people are testing it and shaping it right now.
I built it for people whose money doesn’t fit in one box: someone who just wants their personal spending finally clear, a landlord tracking a few doors, a freelancer or small-business owner whose business and personal keep colliding — and especially anyone who’s several of those at once. If that’s you, this was built for you.
If your current setup gets something wrong, I’d genuinely love to hear it — that’s exactly how PlavaFin gets better.
